On Thursday, 2nd of February, 2017, the iVote Foundation, the main implementer of USAID-funded project “Social Inclusion through Technology” hosted a launching event in order to inform the general public and the media about project activities.
USAID’s project “Social Inclusion though Technology” is implemented by the iVote Foundation in cooperation with the civic organization “Open the Windows” and the “Association of Students and Youth with Disabilities” in Macedonia. The main goal of the project is to increase inclusion and integration of young people with disabilities in the labor market in Macedonia, especially in the fast-growing sector of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) through online training and practical experience in the ICT companies in the country.
For that purpose, the iVote Foundation will provide an innovative learning management system that will comprise online interactive learning trainings including both, soft skills area and technical IT field related trainings. They will be all accessible for all applicants regardless their type of disability. The applicants will be also benefiting from the mentorship program during the overall project implementation in order to ensure full support in their learning process.
iVote Foundation strongly believes that these innovative learning methods and tools combined with practical experience in companies and mentoring opportunities will give participating youth the opportunity to gain the requisite skills to overcome the barriers that limit their participation in the IT labor force.
